In a Live/Gigging situation, would I send all 14 DOs to the board? Master LR, then all the rest 3-14. On DO Channel 13 and 14 I assume I’d send the Reverb L Reverb R, if applicable to be used for the venue and not send any Room? I figure the Room and Reverb isn’t needed usually inside but if you’re outside might want some Reverb. I’m thinking this is the correct routing because the DOs only carry eq/comp but none of the master processing - which could affect the sound quality. So, I’d have to send the Masters also to FOH. My assumption would be I’d just remove the Room and adjust Reverb to taste in the Master Mix tab on the module. Are there any Room/Reverb adjustments in the module I’d have to change on an instrument level that’s being sent to the Master outs? Or will that take care of itself in the Master Mix tab if I kill off the Room and Reverb level?

I'm looking for a rim shot with a super high ting, for reggee music. Like an acoustic snare that has a high pitched ring if you hit the snare as close to the rim as possible and hit the rim. I don't even know if this is possible on ekits or not yet. I've tried on my TD27 and digital snare and I get too lost in the settings and just play a preset because I never accomplish what I want. My tries get me so lost that the user channel is useless because I can't get the snare back to the factory set up, unless there's a way to do it besides a factory reset of the entire module ? I wish someone would come out with a comprehensive tutorial of how to do the settings, especially how to use the positional sensing. I tried and got nowhere. Like, can you put a different sound on the left side of the snare then the right ? Is this possible ? I have no idea if I'm just wasting time or not. Roland really needs tutorials with ALL of their equipment !!!!! WAY detailed ones !!!!! THANKS for your video, I loved a lot of the beats. Still no snare sound I'm looking for though. Is there any way to record each instruments of the kit as separate wave tracks? Not only sum of everything?

Hi Alan Thankyou for the video I have the TD 27 and wanted to expand my kit may I ask how you have so many cymbal/tom pads on your module? Did you have to use splitters ?

Is it true they are the original Roland samples...but with added processing?

I see the TD-07 has a way to turn on or off SysEx send/receive. It really seems like there's got to be a way to do sysex dumps to and from these things.

This was my first expansion kit purchase. I recently got the TD-27KV2, which I love but tbh not crazy about the stock kits. Your set blew me away. So much better! Cymbals sound awesome too; love how the bell really cuts through. How can I do 50x kits? Is there a program for that?

the hh setup looking at the module wasnt that helpful as i couldnt see what u were referring to with regard to the hat loosening. my hh doesnt have a top and bottom hat. just the single. i do have a rd-11 however. maybe they vary as to how they are shipped in diff countries. i have had the kit for years and only muck around on it. the hh pedal has always been off, so not due to fault - prob not setup right. low volume even when at 100 vol/ sensitivity and scan and everything look good? :(

Hi there. Are you able to clarify. Is the mimic pro delivering multiple track recording via usb? Or have you physically plugged in each direct out into a mixer then recorded into your daw. I can't seem to establish if the mimic pro supports multi track audio recording via usb straight to the computer (so the computer sees it as an interface) Thanks in advance fro Australia 🇦🇺

I find these very informative and under the headphones it may sound great but in a live setting with much larger speakers and the room is a live large room how are the drum sounds affected coming out of 18" subs and 12" mid range speakers?

Hi...I just downloaded The Professor pack. I have the TD20x. and followed everything on the tutorial and i cant get them loaded. Ihave almost all the packs for the TD20X but decided tp get the Rush Pack. I havent messed around with the kits. until now. I cannot get it to show all the kits on the TD folder. anyone?? Frustrated a little. thanks

Is it possible to load a preset in the TD-07 via usb or some other external source? Thanks

You can also create your own kits after loading reality, copy a kit you like and if for example you didn’t like the snare on that kit, but you like the snare on another kit, you can copy just the snare you like from whatever kit to your newly created kit. Same can be done for any other pad. You do this in the module after you have already loaded Reality. By the way I just got this about 3 hrs ago…great product.

Great pack between downloading and playing it took me about 3 min to get it going. Yes it’s that easy.

Hey Alan! I just got my Pearl Mimic Pro a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been watching your videos. I really appreciate the time you’ve put into explaining how this module works. It’s helped me gain more understanding of it, so thank you for the great content! I use my mimic pro with a Roland e-kit to play out live with a small band. Our PA is a Bose L1 system, with a QSC Touch mix 8 digital mixer. We have to send everything to the Bose in mono, basically panned hard left in the mixer on all channels as that is where we have the master out cable to the Bose plugged in on the mixer. I only have one channel available on the mixer for my drums and would like to utilize the master outs to obtain all of the kit fx. My question to you is, if I select “Force Master Out To Mono” in the module, should I essentially be able to just plug the ML output in on the module or will I still need both the ML and MR outputs to achieve the full signal of the kit? I ask because I have been hooking it up with just the ML output but I seem to lose the punch and clarity of most of the kit and more specifically the right side of the kit, when compared to what it sounds like in headphones. I will mention that I do have “Headphone Mix Set To Master Out” enabled as well. I haven’t been able to test it with both ML and MR outputs because we don’t have any available channels on the mixer, so any help and guidance you can suggest is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I am backing up my TD12, it works but I do not have a "setup info" item as you do is that normal, I want to make sure that the global settings (pad sensitivity, hi-hat settlings especially) are saved.
